Elliston, Newfoundland is known as the Root Cellar Capital of the World.  Root Cellars cover the landscape of Elliston, which was the first community to use the Root Cellars as a symbol for early subsistence in such harsh climates that are part of Newfoundland’s heritage.  How many are there, you ask?
